On 12 May 2014, Montserrat González and her daughter, Triana Martínez, murdered Isabel Carrasco, president of the León Provincial Council, in broad daylight in a crime that shocked Spain. Twelve years later, they break their silence from prison with previously unheard testimony in which they recount how and why they killed, reflect on their sentence and express remorse. Their account is complemented by analysis from police officers, lawyers and criminologists who reconstruct the case and explore the criminal minds of the mother and daughter. In one of the country’s most high-profile and enigmatic crimes, the accused, Montserrat González and Triana Martínez, mother and daughter, give an exclusive interview from prison after serving half their sentence.

DESDE LA CELDA: CRIMEN EN LEÓN features several conversations with the self-confessed killers, in which they analyse the events from the perspective that time in prison has given them, together with a large part of their personal archive of photographs and videos. Told by Montserrat and Triana for the first time in a single episode, their account is complemented by testimony from those closest to them and from key figures in the investigation and resolution of the crime, including lawyers, National Police officers, the prosecutor and the judge, as well as the leading journalists who covered both the crime and the mass trial, which was streamed live.
