Ibra Youssef embarks on an incredible adventure to discover how the acciona.org Foundation brings renewable energy to the most isolated places on the planet. A journey through the Peruvian Amazon and Andes in which he learns how many communities live without electricity and how solar panels improve their lives.

The road holds many exciting and amusing surprises. He encounters bewildering situations, meets people who will change his life forever and experiences truly heart-warming moments. All the while, he reveals the complex and inspiring work involved in bringing sustainable, affordable electricity to these communities through renewable energy, with a firm commitment to make the service permanent. La luz que permanece is, ultimately, the wonderful journey of light to places no one else reaches.

What began as a video blog documenting his experience as a volunteer and the work of the ACCIONA.org Foundation has become a carefully crafted audiovisual project full of unique stories. Families who can now cook, work or spend time together after dark, and children who can do their homework without the fire risk posed by the old oil lamps.

Difficulties, sacrifice and dedication to publicising the project’s benefits and ultimately implementing it, in a unique life-changing experience.
